1. No Solicitor-Client Relationship Created by Use of this Website

Your use of this website, including the receipt of information or any communication with Lewis & May through this platform, does not establish a solicitor-client relationship between you and the firm.

As a matter of professional policy, Lewis & May does not accept a new client without first completing an internal conflict of interest check. A formal solicitor-client relationship is established only after this check is successfully completed and you have entered into a signed costs agreement or engagement letter with us. Any preliminary consultation, including a paid consultation, does not in itself create a solicitor-client relationship or oblige us to act on your behalf.

Therefore, you should not transmit any confidential information regarding a legal matter through this website until a formal solicitor-client relationship has been established.

2. No Legal Advice Intended

The content provided on this website is for general informational purposes only and is not intended to constitute legal advice. The information is a summary of legal topics and may not be comprehensive or current. As the law is subject to frequent change, we do not guarantee the accuracy or currency of the material presented.

This information should not be relied upon as a substitute for formal legal advice tailored to your specific circumstances. You should contact one of our qualified lawyers for advice regarding your particular legal issues.

3. Pricing, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Disbursements

Any prices or fee estimates displayed on this website are indicative only and are subject to change without notice. The final cost of legal services is dependent on the complexity of the individual matter and will be formally confirmed in a costs agreement provided to you.

  • Exclusion of GST: Unless expressly stated otherwise, all advertised prices and estimates are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). GST at the current rate of 10% will be added to your final invoice.
  • Exclusion of Disbursements: All advertised prices are exclusive of third-party costs and disbursements. These are external expenses that we may incur on your behalf, such as court filing fees, government charges, expert reports, barrister’s fees, and other necessary out-of-pocket expenses.

4. No Guarantee of Results

Any descriptions of our lawyers’ experience, case studies, or past results on this website are provided for informational purposes only. They are not intended to be a guarantee or prediction that the same or similar results can be achieved in every matter undertaken by the firm. The outcome of any legal matter is dependent on a variety of factors, including the specific factual and legal circumstances of the case and unforeseen developments.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lewis & May and its directors, officers, agents, and employees will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from your use of this website or your reliance on the information contained herein.
